Most diet drinks replace sugar with aspartame. This artificial sugar has been linked to bladder, brain, and kidney damage and worst of all… cancer.
Diet drinks also tend to have more caffeine than non diet. So you’ll be up later, snacking! Your body takes the fake sugar and tricks your brain into thinking it’s satisfied. Then when your stomach catches up, it’ll send your brain an SOS that, ” I NEED FOOD NOW!”
Finally, your body is still releasing insulin, using fake sugar as glucose, and adding inches to your belly.
So drink a fizzy as a treat, and avoid diet sodas whenever you can.
